~ Magic in the Skies Tonight ~

Jupiter, Venus and a crescent moon ~ which looks full in this image! ~
slanting westwards in a diagonal line.

Venus, evening star, goddess of love and beauty,
mistress of Friday, Springtime and flowers,
chased by her father Jupiter,
tries to reach Diana, that
powerful and protective goddess,
and by Sunday night she will be hiding behind
the skirts of this huntress....
protectress of women.

Tomorrow night though...look out for Venus and the Moon being so close to each other as to appear to be almost touching.
Hoping for clear skies.

  1. Thanks for the photo! We had clouds, snow, wind and frustration at not being able to see the sky.

    1. We are so familiar with that frustration too Dean...and this was a really kind window, when the clouds went away for about an hour.

  3. I was mesmerized at the tiny sliver of a moon the other night, no matter how many times I look at the heavenly bodies, I am continually amazed! Wonder if I'll look out for the moon and venus... thanks for that.

  5. I took this same photo! Although my crescent looks as it should, it is not a clear sharp image. Beautiful sight, eh?!!
