~ A late Happy New Year ~ and ~ Senses ~

I enjoy reading Monica's blog over at Ink and Chaiand today I feel like joining in with her Senses Shared.

read: Stan Rosenthal a Biography
create: a story cloth
taste: homemade Mulligatawny soup
see:  The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
touch: massaging a dog friend
hear: the chatter of Starlings
think: simplicity (my word for this year)
feel: light, hopeful
smell: patchouli

I am hoping to take part in this regularly, though I do not seem to spend much time on the computer these days. I did do a great thing this week....deleted my Facebook and felt so free afterwards.

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg was stunning...we enjoyed every moment.

I have been working on the Winter Solstice cloth....even wrote a post about it, but did not quite finish it in time and so, there it waits! I might post it anyway soon.

I would like to wish everyone a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda from our little corner of Wales. It is good to feel hope again...I've missed it over the last year. Wishing everyone joy.

  4. Mulligatawny soup? Any chance of a recipe?
I am still enjoying connections on FB but am annoyed with their constant changes and pushing products. I've made contact with high school friends that I've not seen in over 50 years and with a niece-in-law that I've never met. Pluses and minuses. Sometimes check several times a day. Sometimes miss several days in a row. I am still in charge of what I do most of the time.

    1. YES :~) Give me a chance to write it out though...it's my own recipe and it's in my head!

I was not very active on Facebook, but found I could waste quite a lot of time on there all the same. Being in charge is good :~)

  5. Oops, almost forgot. Happy New Year!

Sorry, I am not much of a New Year's fan. I've not stayed up late for years and new year's eve is no exception.

Each day is the beginning of a new day to be cherished and enjoyed as much as possible. That is what I celebrate.

  6. Ha ha...thank you.

We don't like the New Year celebrations either, and have stayed home on that night since we have been together. We only realise it's THAT time when we hear the fireworks.

Oh, beautiful words....I like your philosophy....
