The card I made for My Man for St Dwynwen's Day |
We went out to celebrate Diwrnod Santes Dwynwen a day early this year, as the weather was kind and the next day was forecast to be wet and windy...which it was! We take note of these things since we've had the bike.
We went to The George's ~ the very best in Haverfordwest. I had a mocha coffee and My Man had red berry herbal tea, and we were really happy to see they had Honeybuns cakes,
as he has gluten and dairy allergies. We had stopped going to cafes because it was no fun eating something delicious in front of him, and as it is one of our most favourite things to do together, we were missing it. So this was very happy~making indeed :~)
We had a lovely conversation with the lady who works there about the bees in Lesley's walled garden, and whose honey and wax candles they have on sale in the shop.
They were very proud last year, to have won the prize for best honey in the Newcomer's category, and the first prize for the wax sculpture ~ a skep.
The shop is full of goodies and treasures and goes back, and around and down into little secret places where you might find crystals, and books and gem and silver jewelry and eco clothing and footwear and lots lots more....as I said...the best in Haverfordwest.
My Man caught me talking with my hands as usual.....
and writing...
he too is always writing |

Helen. Well, since the post is about a celebration of love, I'd like to say I love your woven cloth star card, I love the description of the day, and most of all, I love knowing that you and he are together, leading a life, making it work. Maybe I sound cheesy but that's what I feel. Love to you.
ReplyDeleteHeeey Peggy :~))) I love your 'cheesy' :~))) Thank you, and love back. x
DeleteLove is in the air... I love it!
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you.x
He he....YES! Much love to you too Trish. x
DeleteSuch a lovely post! It is so nice to spend this kind of time with a loved one. Love seeing the happiness on your faces.
ReplyDeleteAnd love the little bee teapot set! So cute :)
Hey hey Nancy...it's the best isn't it....spending time with a loved one like this.
DeleteThe bee teapot was calling to this Buzz...but I have all I need, so I resisted :~)))
Love to you. x
oooo.... What a great sounding place to spend some time! I took a peek over at the Honeybuns site - amazing! I wish we had them here... I'd be happy to support them. I wish more bakers would offer products without refined sugar. And what a lovely collection of photos of you and your man. Sweet. Greetings from the forest. That image of the mocha coffee has inspired me to make some chai with steamed milk. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThank you Valerianna....I love your comment...so agree about the refined sugar. The mocha coffee was too much for me really...I was spinning for the rest of the day....I gave up coffee many years ago for that reason....giving massage with shaking hands was not good! I learned afterwards that they make SMOOTHIES....the only place here that does....so, next time :~)))
DeletePlease say a heartfelt hello to your forest for me...I miss the woods I grew up with. x
what a sweet magical post, you two are adorable, love to you both.x
ReplyDeleteHi hi Cindy....thank you :~))) Love back to you. x
Deleteoh the Black & White with the Red that's true love !
ReplyDeleteha ha...now I'm singing Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly's 'True Love'. Thank you for visiting Mo :~)))
DeleteHi, Helen. Lovely card and lovely, lovie post. I also like your winter solstice piece.
ReplyDeletebest, nadia
Lovie dovie :~))) Thank you Nadia.
DeleteThe George's is lovely, isn't it? I'll have to let my friend know about the cakes as she has gluten and dairy allergies too and it really does detract from my enjoyment of a cake if she can't have one too! Glad to see you're out of hibernation!
