~ The Tilly Keepers ~

I have made a start on a cloth for Tilly.

She is buried in the garden at My Man's parents' house. It is quiet, up some steps away from the house, has a pond filled with Irises, and a glorious view of the Preseli hills, where she and I used to love going on walking adventures before she became ill over a year ago.

I love to sit up there with her when we visit. It's peaceful, and I tell her all our news. On each side of her grave there are two trees, an Ash and a Beech, and these are The Tilly Keepers.

I had been wanting to make a cloth in her honour, but was waiting for inspiration....which came during my last visit.

There is still much to do, but I'm taking it slowly, and as I work, I keep in my mind all that she brought into our home with her happy, sunshiny, loving self.

Hope the sun is shining on you ~

  1. So sorry to hear this.
They are greatly missed but well worth sharing our lives with, despite the heartbreak.

  2. That's a wonderful thing to do in her memory! And I love that she has "keepers", my Sophia cat has a keeper hemlock that she used to love to nap under in the mosses to keep cool...

  3. Trees as keepers. Yes. I love the idea of this, how it came to you and represents so much to you. It's nice to honor those we love. I like how you've begun this cloth. Please show more of it as you go :)
